New duet book out in september
The Classic Standard, over 50 pages of duets for tenor and bass trombone, written by Ilja Reijngoud, published by Ilja and Martin Schippers.
To compose the Classic Standards, Ilja took the harmonies and some well-known classical themes as inspiration, to compose new melodies. For each duet I choose a particular Jazz rhythm, allowing classical players to familiarise themselves with jazz timing. At the same time The Classic Standard is aiming to encourage jazz players to focus on technical challenging and classical performance, to play together with their classical friends.
