Composer and arranger

Ilja's list of commissioners has become quite varied. They include The WDR bigband, HR bigband, The Metropole Orchestra, both orchestra's of the Royal Dutch Airforce and Marine, The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, Cubop City BigBand, Amsterdam Jazz Orchestra, The New Trombone Collective, International Trombone Ensemble (Japan) and Aurelia Saxophone Quartet.

 

Ilja arranged for artists such as All Jarreau, Branford Marsalis, Randy Brecker, Conrad Herwig, Toots Thielemans, Ronny Cuber, Gino Vannelli, Trijntje Oosterhuis, Ben van Dijk, Henri Bok, Jörgen van Rijen, Branimir Slokar and Bart van Lier.
